What's Biting

Mako

The mighty mako are back! These impressive beasts provide a show like no other, and once hooked they are known to leap out of the ocean leaving anglers in awe of their display. It's an experience that any angler would long remember and be telling the tale for many years to come.

The moderate Southerly winds in late December and early January have limited our opportunities to even get out through the heads and into Bass Strait on the hunt for shark. However, the first opportunity Mother Nature presented to us we headed off shore with high expectations and we delivered! We were able to bring up our third mako for the season weighing in at 60kg. So if it's shark you are looking for we can hook you up for some heart pumping action.

Salmon

There has been lots of Salmon busting up at the moment, so we are finding them more consistently and they are a bit of fun with light gear.

Flathead

The good old flathead is always a favourite on the dinner table and a great entertainer on the water. The bigger flatties and Tiger flatties are in, and at the moment they are coming through well in their numbers.

Kingfish

Using last year as a guide we should start to see the Kingfish popping up in February.

This is a great time of year for anglers, so get out there and enjoy it!
